Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 71A in New Britain
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 71A from Route 571 (West) to Buell Street in New Britain.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.50-mile segment of Route 71A from SR 571 (West) to Buell Street in New Britain. This milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur from Wednesday, April 28, 2021, to Thursday, April 29, 2021. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to occur from Monday, May 3, 2021, to Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 71A from SR 571 (West) to Buell Street in New Britain. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Monday – Friday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
