Milling and Resurfacing project on Route 43 in Cornwall

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 43 in Cornwall from Route 4 to Route 63.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 5.06-mile segment of Route 43. The milling portion of the project is scheduled to occur on Friday, July 30, 2021, to Friday, July 30, 2021. The resurfacing portion of the project is scheduled to occur on Monday August 9, 2021, to Friday, August 20, 2021.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (Monday through Friday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
