Milling and Resurfacing Project on I-84 Westbound in East Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on I-84 westbound from SR 518 (Roberts Street) to .06 miles east of the Connecticut River overpass in East Hartford.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 0.50-mile segment of I-84 westbound from SR 518 (Roberts Street) to .06 miles east of the Connecticut River overpass in East Hartford. The milling portion of the project is scheduled from Sunday, May 9, 2021, to Friday, May 14, 2021. The resurfacing portion of the project is anticipated to occur from Sunday, May 16, 2021, to Wednesday, June 2, 2021. No work will be performed on the day before or after the Memorial Day Holiday.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation’s 2021 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
Motorists can expect lane closures on I-84 westbound from SR 518 (Roberts Street) to .06 miles east of the Connecticut River overpass in East Hartford, (including ramps). Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously, and to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
