The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the proposed Interchange Improvements on I-691 Eastbound (EB) to I-91 Northbound (NB) in Meriden and Middletown on Thursday, August 5, 2021. The project is identified as State Project No. 0079-0245.
The purpose of the project is to reduce congestion for the traffic movement from I-691 EB to I-91 NB and address associated safety concerns within the proposed project limits. Right-of-way impacts associated with the proposed project are not anticipated.
Construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2022 based on the availability of funding and any approval of permit(s). The estimated construction cost for this project is approximately $57 million. This project is anticipated to be undertaken with 100-percent state funds.
