The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that bridge inspection work will be performed on Route 8 northbound at Exit 5 in Bridgeport. The Route 8 northbound off-ramp to SR722 (Chopsey Hill Road) will be closed to traffic during the inspection process. This project is scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 8, and Sunday, December 15, 2019, weather permitting.

The work schedule for this project is 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A detour route will be established around this location and will be in effect during the scheduled work hours only.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
