Welcome to the Department of Developmental Services Safety Awareness Campaign. "Be Aware- Be Safe", focuses on the importance of protecting the health and safety of individuals with mental retardation. The department serves in day and residential programs. Commissioner Peter H. O'Meara's goal is to reach every public and private employee with a clear message of their responsibilities in caring for this vulnerable population.
