Databases of Individuals listed in State Archives Records

The State Archives houses collections that range from small manuscript materials (a diary, letter, or scrapbook) to large collections containing hundreds of items and volumes.  Access to these collections are through online descriptive guides (finding aids).  Over time, staff have created searchable name indexes for those record groups containing significant biographical and genealogical research value, which are now available through its website.

Click on any of the databases listed below or on the database index to search or learn more about the records.

Researcher Note:  The information contained in these databases are only a starting point for research. In many cases, the researcher should visit the State Library to examine the original records. The records are only accessible through the Archives/Secured Collections Research Area (ARA) in the History and Genealogy Unit. Please see the History & Genealogy Access Archives and Secured Collections guide for procedures.
