The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is alerting Shore Line East (SLE) customers that the temporary construction schedule needed for the Amtrak Fitter Interlocking Project will end and the new SLE schedule will take effect on Monday, December 18, 2023. The new SLE schedule maintains 16 daily trains on weekdays and increases to 16 trains on weekends. Both morning and evening train times have been adjusted. The new December 18 SLE schedule includes a train arriving in New Haven Union Station at 8:30 a.m. and a train departing New Haven Union Station at 5:35 p.m.
“The new Shore Line East schedule starting on December 18 reflects the feedback we received during our public hearing process and working with community stakeholders,” said Connecticut Department of Transportation Bureau Chief of Public Transportation Benjamin Limmer. “We look forward to implementing this new schedule that provides customers travel options that meet their needs.”
Customers are reminded that the additional cross-honor trains provided by Amtrak during the construction project will be discontinued effective Monday, December 18, 2023. These trains include Amtrak 95, 173, 177, 172, 176, and 178. Amtrak trains 93, 137, 86, and 94 will continue participating in the cross-honor program.

SLE passengers are encouraged to pre-purchase their rail tickets before boarding. CTrail passengers may purchase their rail tickets using the CTrail eTix mobile ticketing app at CTrail ticket vending machines in New Haven or Amtrak ticket windows in New Haven, Old Saybrook, and New London (credit and debit cards only).
