State Employees IT Communication Devices

Overview

The Department of Administrative Services Bureau of Enterprise Systems and Technology (BEST) Unified Communications Division maintains the computing devices that Executive Branch agencies use to conduct business. The types of devices that agencies connect to the State’s data network include:
  • Desktops and Laptops

 
Computers and monitors using the Microsoft Windows operating system. Some devices are managed with a centralized deployment, update and inventory application that is maintained within the State’s secure Data Center environment.

  • Tablets

 
Hybrid laptops and tablet computers.

  • Software

 
The DAS/BITS Unified Communications Division maintains the procurement, management and maintenance of acceptable software programs. This includes the development and maintenance of the State’s contracts for software acquisition.

  • Collaboration

 
The DAS/BEST Unified Communications Division provides instant messaging services to select Executive Branch agencies.

  • Mobile Email

 
The DAS/BEST Unified Communications Division maintains a mobile application enabling secure access to the State’s email service.
