November is Career Development Month in Connecticut
Governor Dannel P. Malloy has proclaimed November 2015 to be Career Development Month in Connecticut. To mark the occasion, the Connecticut Department of Labor is raising awareness about the various employment services that it offers to jobseekers online and in-person.
The Department of Labor operates 15 American Job Centers throughout the state that provide career counseling, résumé writing assistance, skills assessments, and job search tips. In November and throughout the year, many of the job centers host workshops that are free and open to the public. Click here to view calendars of upcoming free workshops at each job center.
Online resources offered on the Department of Labor website include help with employment and training and unemployment services, 2-1-1 also provides information and referral for employment-related needs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year.
