DDS Legislative Update - February 6 2008
Appropriations Committee Public Hearing Information
The Appropriations Committee will hold state agency budget presentations and Public Hearings the week of February 11 –15, 2008.
The Department of Developmental Services is scheduled to present at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 in Room 2C of the LOB. For the public wishing to testify on the DDS budget, there will be a Public Hearing on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at 5:00 P.M. in Room 2C.
Please submit 50 copies of written testimony at the time of sign-up. Testimony delivered after 2:00 P.M. may not be distributed until the following day. Speaker order for the 5:00 P. M. Public Hearing will be determined by a lottery system. Lottery numbers will be drawn from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. in the Atrium of the LOB and from 11:15 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. in Room 2700 of the LOB. The list of speakers registered through the lottery system will be posted outside of Room 2C at 4:00 P.M. Speakers arriving after the completion of the lottery will have their names placed at the end of the speaker list. On Wednesday, February 13, 2008, the Committee will provide a separate sign-up sheet for persons with special needs. Those speakers will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. The Committee chairs will alternate between the special needs list and the standard list until the special needs list has been exhausted. Speakers will be limited to 3 minutes of testimony.
