Questions Your Child Will Want You to Ask:  Are you finding medical and health personnel experienced in caring for children with my diagnosis?  Are you taking me to a pediatrician who understands and meets my needs?  Does our pediatrician refer me to specialists when needed? Am I getting the therapies I need to help me to grow and develop?  Am I part of a “medical home”?  Do I need to be?  Do you feel like you have to go along with everything the professionals tell you about me, even if your gut tells you otherwise?  Do you know what to do if we don’t like or if you disagree with my medical professionals?  Are you teaching me about healthy, nutritious food and how my body works?  Do you have a “go bag” containing extra medication  and whatever else I may need in an emergency?  Do others know what to do, if something happens to my primary care takers?
