RE: FOOD RECALL ADVISORY:  Unilever United States, Inc. recalls some types of Skippy Peanut Butter due to possible Salmonella contamination
Food Recall Advisory
The Hartford Courant newspaper reported on March 6, 2011 that Some types of Skippy peanut butter have been recalled by Unilever United States, Inc. A recall notification was posted Friday on their website for some of its 16.3-ounce plastic jars of Skippy Reduced Fat Creamy Peanut Butter Spread and Skippy Reduced Fat Super Chunk Peanut Butter Spread. The release said the jars may be contaminated with salmonella.
The jars were sent to stores in Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin.
The notification on the website said no illnesses related to the issue had been reported. And no other Skippy products were affected by the recall.
