Water Advisory
The Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) and the Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) announce that MDC customers in the towns of East Hartford, Glastonbury, Portland, and South Windsor NO LONGER NEED TO BOIL WATER for consumption. The distribution systems in these towns were isolated yesterday from the Reservoir No. 6 service area. After several rounds of sampling, no organisms were found and DPH has determined the water may be consumed directly from the tap without boiling.
The DPH is requesting that MDC customers in the towns of Bloomfield, Windsor, Hartford, West Hartford, and parts of East Granby and Windsor Locks, continue to boil their drinking water for one minute as a precautionary measure through the weekend while rigorous testing continues throughout the system. This testing will determine if chlorination efforts have successfully eliminated the organisms from the drinking water.
