About Audit Services

The Audit Services Unit is responsible for the internal and external audit functions for Department of Developmental Services (DDS).  This includes financial, operational and compliance assessments of DDS Central Office and Regional Centers operations, private agency contracts and case management files.  Additionally, the unit monitors financial reports submitted by qualified providers, oversee Single State Audit compliance, acts as a liaison for audits performed by Auditor of Public Accounts and other federal agencies, and investigates irregularities or abuse of funds.
 
The Audit Services Unit’s primary focus is to provide Agency Administrators with oversight, trending, guidance and best practices for areas of financial, operational and compliance exposure. Through collaboration, Audit Services supports Agency objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operations and internal controls.
