  1. I'm on active military duty; do I need to comply with licensing or Continuing Education requirements?

    For specific requirements related to active military duty, please contact the Department directly by emailing cid.licensing@ct.gov.

  2. I am a U.S. veteran. Am I eligible for any waivers?

    No, unfortunately there are no waivers for veterans, however veterans applying for insurance licenses are eligible to be reimbursed for licensing exam fees. To apply, you must complete the following form: Application for Reimbursement of Licensing or Certification Test: VA Form 22-0803.

    The Insurance Department is participating through an initiative of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs reimburses exam fees for the following 17 licenses:
    • Certified Insurance Consultant’s Life/Accident & Health Insurance
    • Certified Insurance Consultant’s Property/Casualty Insurance
    • Casualty Adjuster All Lines Insurance
    • Casualty Adjuster All Lines Except Workers Compensation
    • Casualty Adjuster Auto Only
    • Casualty Adjusters Exam for Workers Compensation
    • Surety Bail Bond Agent
    • Property & Casualty Insurance
    • Producer Property Insurance
    • Producer Casualty Insurance
    • Producer Personal Lines Insurance
    • Producer Life, Accident & Health Insurance
    • Producer Life Insurance
    • Producer Accident & Health Insurance
    • Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraiser
    • Public Adjuster
    • Surplus Lines Broker
