How do I apply for a new LSP license or renew an existing license?
- First, apply for a new or renewal LSP license at: www.NIPR.com.
- For a new license, under Licensing Center, click on “Apply for a New License”.
- To renew an existing license, under Licensing Center, click on “Renew an Existing License”.
- After submitting the online application through NIPR:
- Please submit the LSP supplemental form.
- The LSP supplemental form will have a list of documents you are required to submit and how to submit them.
- Then, please submit the LSP supplemental form and required documents to cid.tpa@ct.gov, Attn: LSP.
I am renewing an existing LSP license. Do I have to provide the same documents a new applicant provides?
- Yes. The documentation requirements for new and renewal LSP licenses are identical.
What documents need to be submitted after I apply for a new or renewal LSP license via NIPR?
- The list of documents are located on the LSP supplemental form.
I provided a particular document to the Department in a previous year. Do I have to provide it again?
- Yes, unless you previously provided the documents through the NIPR warehouse from a previous year. You will want to review the checklist located on the Life Settlement Provider supplemental form. You are required to submit the “Certificate(s) of Good Standing” must be refreshed annually.
Can a LSP license be issued pending receipt of required documents?
- No. All required documentation must be provided before any application will be reviewed.
- If you have an existing LSP license, you must submit both the NIPR application and the LSP supplemental form and required documentation prior to the license expiration date. The LSP license expires on 3/31 each year if all requirements are not submitted to the Department prior to the expiration date.
Where can I print a copy of my LSP license?
- Go to SBS, select “Print License.”

Does this license type require a bond?
- No.
