In Connecticut, any individual or business entity that sells, solicits, or negotiates insurance for any class or classes of insurance must hold a valid license for the corresponding line of authority, as required by Connecticut law. Additionally, if the individual or entity represents an insurer or acts as an agent of the insurer, they must have a valid appointment with that insurer. If you're unsure whether you need a license, it is recommended that you contact your company or employer before applying for the license you believe is necessary to comply with the law.
