This is a decision for the licensed pharmacist that is responsible for the dispensary technician’s training program, provided that sufficient records are maintained.

"Direct supervision" means a supervising licensed pharmacist who (A) is physically or virtually present in the area or location where the dispensary technician is performing routine cannabis dispensing functions; and (B) conducts in-process and final checks on the dispensary technician's performance.

A licensed pharmacist must supervise a dispensary technician when the dispensary technician is performing routine cannabis dispensing functions. When supervising a dispensary technician in the dispensary technician training program, eight of those training program hours must include the licensed pharmacist conducting in-person supervision.
