DDS Abuse and Neglect Registry
The Abuse and Neglect Registry is a list of employees who have been terminated or separated from employment for substantiated abuse, neglect or both. An employee may be placed on the registry only subsequent to an administrative hearing conducted by DDS. The registry is confidential. It is only available to authorized agencies for the purposes of protective services determinations, or to employers who employ individuals to provide services to DDS served individuals for purposes of employment decisions. Employers who provide services to DDS served individuals may not employ anyone whose name is on the Abuse and Neglect Registry. Persons placed on the registry may request removal from the registry after two years if placed on the registry for neglect, and five years if placed on the registry for abuse. Persons requesting removal from the registry must file a written request with the Commissioner of DDS and demonstrate good cause for removal.
