Rich Text Editor

The Rich Text Editor (RTE) in Sitecore lets you format and edit content directly within content fields. Use it to style text, insert links and images, and apply basic formatting without needing HTML knowledge.

Available Features

You can use the Rich Text Editor to:

Be sure any images you include meet accessibility compliance standards (e.g., descriptive alt text).

Accessing the Rich Text Editor

  1. Click Show editor from within the component to launch the RTE.

  2. Enter or modify your content as needed. NOTE: See Rich text editor features to see a detailed list of the toolbar functions.     Text Editor screen

 

Saving Your Changes

  • Click Accept.
  • Select the Save icon (top left of the screen) to save your work.
  • Click Publish Content on the Publish tab of the ribbon.
  • When you're finished editing the page, select the Unlock icon to check in your changes.

⚠️ Sitecore Session Timeout Reminder

Sitecore automatically logs you out after 20 minutes of inactivity. This includes time spent working inside the Rich Text Editor, which Sitecore doesn’t register as activity.

To prevent losing your work:

  • Regularly select Accept to exit the RTE.

Then click Save to commit your changes.
