Usage
Videos can explain information more clearly than text alone. They work well for how‑to demonstrations, speeches, and adding a human touch to state services.
To embed a video:
- Open the video in your browser.
- Select Share.
- Choose Embed.
- Copy the full <iframe> code.
- Paste it into the Video Recording field of the video component in Sitecore
Accessibility requirements
Every video on CT.gov must follow WCAG standards. Before you embed a video, check that:
- Captions are accurate, timed correctly, and include meaningful sounds.
- A transcript is available and lists speakers and important non‑speech audio.
- Player controls (play, pause, volume) work with a mouse, keyboard, and screen reader.
- Auto‑captions have been reviewed and corrected.
- The video does not include flashing or distracting visuals.
- The script uses plain language at about a sixth‑grade reading level.
- Branding follows CT.gov standards for logos, colors, and fonts.
