Publishing a page

Publishing makes your content visible on the live website—or, alternatively, you can publish to a preview environment to review changes before going live.

Note: Only Sitecore admin users can publish content. If you don't see the publishing options, contact your Sitecore administrator.

  1. From the top Ribbon, go to the Publish tab.

  2. Click Publish Content.

  3. In the Publish Item window, make sure the following options are selected:

    • Smart Publish – Publishes updates to the selected item.

    • Republish - Publish everything

    • Publish subitems – Publishes any child items (such as subpages in a folder).

    • Publish related items – Publishes any linked files like images or documents.

    • Language: English

    • Publishing targets: Internet (web) or Preview (if you want to review the content before it goes live)

  4. Click Publish.
  5. When the confirmation window appears, click OK.

  6. A dialog box will appear indicating items are being published. Once complete, it will show the results.

  7. Select Close when done. The item(s) is now published.

Your content is now published—either live or to the preview site, depending on the target you selected.
