Review Your Insurance Coverage

If you experienced flood damage, contact your insurance company or agent promptly and document your losses when it is safe to do so.

Reminder: Standard homeowners and renters insurance generally does not cover flood damage. Flood insurance is typically purchased separately. Appropriate coverage can help protect households and businesses from significant financial losses after a disaster.

Use CID’s Climate Risk Mapping Tool to understand your property’s flood risk and visit our Flood Insurance Consumer Information page to learn more about coverage.

For additional information, visit CID’s Be Weather Ready: Preparedness & Resiliency Center.
