AEMT Renewal/Recertification
Learn how to apply for an initial AEMT Certification on CT e-license by downloading the step-by-step instruction guide.
To qualify for renewal/recertification an applicant must renew on or before the expiration date of the certification. To qualify for renewal/recertification an applicant shall meet one of the following requirements:
- Complete 50 hours of continued education for an AEMT as required by NREMT; OR
- Be currently certified by NREMT as an AEMT.
In order to receive OEMS renewal notices, applicants are required to provide a current email address within their e-license account. A renewal notice will be emailed 3 months prior to the posted expiration date. Applicants are given a 3 month grace period after the expiration date. If the credential is not renewed by the end of the 3 month grace period, the certification will expire and the applicant can no longer practice as an EMS Clinician. To reactivate an expired AEMT credential, please see reinstatement requirements.
