Artist Fellowship Program


The Artist Fellowship Program provides recognition and funding support for Connecticut artists to pursue new work and advance their artistic careers.

The program is not accepting applications at this time. The anticipated schedule for the state fiscal year 2025 Artist Fellowship program is noted below:

  • Program guidelines and application available in late spring or early summer 2024.
  • Application deadline in late summer 2024.

The Office of the Arts alternates between the Artist Fellowship program and the Artists Respond program. It is anticipated that the Artists Respond program will accept applications in the state fiscal year 2026 grant cycle with an application deadline in late summer 2025.

The program recognizes three (3) grant designations with award recognition determined during the review process. 

  • Artistic Excellence grants: $5,000
  • Artist Fellowship grants: $3,000
  • Emerging Recognition grants: $1,000

Fellowship awards are highly competitive and artists are encouraged to apply when they have created a substantial body of recent work.
