Artist Fellowship Program

Overview

The Artist Fellowship Program provides recognition and funding support for Connecticut artists to pursue new work and advance their artistic careers.

The program is not currently accepting applications. The next application cycle is tentatively scheduled to open in the summer of 2022 (fiscal year 2023). The Office of the Arts is currently offering grants to artists through the Artists Respond program for the 2022 fiscal year. The Artist Fellowship web pages are for informational purposes only with an overview of the program as it ran in fiscal year 2021. Please note: changes may occur from one cycle to the next.

The program recognizes three (3) grant designations with award recognition determined during the review process.

  • Artistic Excellence grants: $5,000
  • Artist Fellowship grants: $3,000
  • Emerging Recognition grants: $1,000

Fellowship awards are highly competitive and artists are encouraged to apply ONLY when they have created a substantial body of RECENT work that can be presented professionally.

Be sure to review the program guidelines to learn more about the program before you submit your application.
