What is the Artists Respond grant?
The Artists Respond grant program awards funds to Connecticut artists for community-based projects that range from large audience events to small group activities. Artist-led projects use the arts to inspire, empower, educate, and transform Connecticut communities.
Projects should thoughtfully engage the community and consider community needs, social issues and current events.
The projects must occur in Connecticut and be led by the artist/applicant. Artists may partner with nonprofits and business entities, but the project must be the work of the artists, not the nonprofit or business.
The program is not accepting applications in the upcoming fiscal year 2026 grant cycle.
