Where can I learn more about the Artists Respond grant?


How do you define an artist?


For this grant, an artist is a person who practices an art form. Examples include musician, theater performer, photographer, puppeteer, craft artist, painter, poet, author, vocalist, folk and traditional artist, dancer, etc.


What is a full-time Connecticut resident?


For this grant, a full-time resident has a home in Connecticut for the entire year and spends more than 183 days in Connecticut during the year.


When do grant recipients receive the money?


The process begins after grantees complete and return the contract and other required paperwork. If you sign up for direct deposit, we usually deposit your grant within 3-4 weeks. If you do not sign up for direct deposit, we will issue and mail a check, which usually arrives received within 4-6 weeks. Our staff will process your grant award as quickly as possible.


Is the grant taxable?


Please ask your accountant or other tax consultant to determine if the grant is taxable income in your specific situation.
