PNSS data represent approximately 1.3 million pregnant and postpartum women from 30 states, the
These two surveillance systems provide useful data for purposes of:
-
program planning, management, and evaluation;
-
the development of health and nutrition interventions;
-
tracking progress toward the nation's Healthy People 2010 objectives;
-
and, comparing different programs, populations, time periods & geographic areas.
Nationwide, all PNSS data and over 85% of PedNSS data, come from the WIC Program; in the case of Connecticut, all data reported in the PNSS & PedNSS surveillance systems are from the State’s WIC Program. Click on any active link, below, to access that year’s data.
