NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Railroad Bridge Replacement project will be performed on Route 138 between Bushnell Road and Ross Hill Road Ext., in Lisbon.  This project is scheduled to begin on or about Friday, June 20, 2008 and continue through Sunday, June 22, 2008. This is a 24 hour operation and the road will be closed until completion.  A posted detour will be in place for the duration of the project.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour.  The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 a.m. Friday until completion on Sunday. 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
