Service of Process Update – Effective June 15, 2026

Due to the Connecticut Insurance Department's office relocation, service of process will be accepted on a limited schedule until further notice.

Days: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday
Hours: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Lobby, 280 Trumbull Street, Hartford, CT 06103

Upon arrival, State Marshals serving the Connecticut Insurance Department should:

Sign in at the Lobby Security Desk.

Inform Building Security that they are there to serve the Connecticut Insurance Department.

Building Security will contact the Department, and a Connecticut Insurance Department representative will come to the Lobby Security Desk to accept service of process.

If you experience any issues reaching the Department during this interim period, please call the Connecticut Insurance Department's main phone line at (860) 297-3800 for assistance.

This temporary process will remain in effect until the Department's office relocation is complete and normal operations resume. Additional updates will be posted as they become available.

Please Note: Connecticut state offices will be closed in observance of Juneteenth on Friday, June 19, 2026, and Independence Day (observed) on Friday, July 3, 2026.

Update: Credit Card Payments Now Accepted for Service of Process

The Connecticut Insurance Department now accepts credit card payments for service of process fees. You can use Visa, MasterCard and Discover for payments. American Express is not accepted. Additionally, payments can be made using Apple Pay or Google Pay connected to a valid card type.
