CONNECTICUT INSURANCE DEPARTMENT TO HOST PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING OF SEVERE WEATHER MITIGATION AND RESILIENCY ADVISORY COUNCIL
Public Invited to Attend in Person or Join Virtually on May 8
HARTFORD, CT – Connecticut Insurance Department (CID) Commissioner Andrew N. Mais today announced an upcoming public informational meeting of the Severe Weather Mitigation and Resiliency Advisory Council. The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 8, 2025, starting at 10:30 a.m., at the Connecticut Insurance Department. The public is encouraged to attend and provide input on the Advisory Council’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Connecticut’s resilience to climate-related risks.
"Severe weather continues to affect Connecticut communities, and we are committed to developing proactive, practical strategies that make our state more resilient," said Commissioner Mais. "This meeting is an opportunity for residents, industry partners, and stakeholders to learn more about the Advisory Council’s progress and to share their perspectives."
The informational meeting will begin with updates from members of the Severe Weather Mitigation & Resiliency Advisory Council, followed by three presentations. The meeting will then open for public comment, with time reserved for individuals who have signed up in advance to speak.

Date: Thursday, May 8, 2025
Time: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm
Location: The Connecticut Insurance Department, 153 Market Street, 7th Floor, Hartford, CT. Attendees should follow signs to the 7th floor and check in at the front desk upon arrival.
Parking: Parking is available at the Morgan Street Garage located at 155 Morgan St. S, Hartford.
Viewing Options: The meeting will also be accessible to livestream via the Advisory Council’s website.

- Oral Comments: To sign up to speak at the meeting, either in-person or virtually, please register here. *NOTE: Registration is required to provide oral comments. Registration will close on May 6, 2025.
- Written Comments: To submit written comments, please email such written comments and title your email “Public Comments for May 8th" to cid.admin@ct.gov.
