INSURANCE DEPARTMENT ASST. DEPUTY COMMISSIONER GEORGE BRADNER
RECEIVES NATIONAL AWARD FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE
Connecticut Insurance Department Commissioner Andrew N. Mais is pleased to announce that George Bradner, Assistant Deputy Commissioner and Property and Casualty Division Director has been awarded the prestigious Robert Dineen Award by the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC). The award is the highest and most prestigious given to state insurance regulators.
“George Bradner has been integral not just to CID’s success, but to state insurance regulation across the country, selflessly sharing his time and talent to protecting consumers by helping to address some of the thorniest issues facing us as regulators such as Climate Change, Artificial Intelligence, and flood,” said Commissioner Andrew Mais.
“Among many contributions over several decades, George has been a huge and active supporter of innovation and technology development both at the NAIC and within the insurance industry,” said Commissioner Mais. “In addition, George has been a vocal thought-leader on climate and resiliency issues, including garnering state participation in the industry-wide climate risk disclosure survey, being a strong advocate for strong resilience measures being put into place in Connecticut and providing thought leadership for peers in other states. George was also integral in the collection efforts of terrorism, auto, and flood insurance data and continues to push for more data relevant for property insurance market intelligence.”
At its Fall National Meeting, the NAIC formally recognized Bradner of Colchester, Connecticut, and three other state regulators who have made significant contributions to state-based insurance regulation.
According to the NAIC, the Robert Dineen Award is given to a state regulator “who has made an outstanding contribution to the state regulation of insurance and exhibits an attitude and performs activities fostering the advancement of the insurance regulatory profession.” Established in 1989, the prestigious regulator award is named in honor of the founder of the NAIC’s Support and Services Office.
The NAIC announced the Dineen award presentations in a press release.
