What do businesses, other than cannabis retailers and package stores, need to do to continue to sell THC-infused beverages?
Not all businesses will be allowed to continue to sell THC-infused beverages. Effective July 1, 2024, only cannabis retail establishments (dispensary facilities, hybrid retailers and retailers) and package stores with a waiver can offer THC-infused beverages (beverages containing THC) for retail sale.

As a physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse, am I allowed to provide telehealth services for patient recommendations or follow-up care?
Notwithstanding any provision of the general statutes or any regulation of Connecticut state agencies concerning the certification of qualifying patients through telehealth services, a physician, physician assistant or advanced practice registered nurse may issue a written certification to a qualifying patient and provide any follow-up care utilizing telehealth services, provided all other requirements for issuing such written certification to the qualifying patient, including, but not limited to, all recordkeeping requirements, are satisfied.

No. An employer, however, may prohibit the use of intoxicating substances during work hours or discipline an employee for being intoxicated while at work.

Can licensed cannabis establishments sell hemp products?
Public Act 23-166 allows for the sale of hemp manufacturer products at licensed dispensary facilities, hybrid retailers and retailers.

Do food and beverage items need to be shelf-stable?
Yes. All cannabis products must meet the manufacturing requirements identified in Section 21a-421j-26 of the Department’s policies and procedures, including that all cannabis products shall be homogenous and shelf-stable for a minimum of 60 days after opening without refrigeration.

Can hybrid retailers or retailers sell or giveaway promotional items such as apparel?
No. Cannabis, cannabis products, paraphernalia, and manufacturer hemp products are the only items that a hybrid retailer or retailer may sell, offer, give, dispense, compound, transfer, or transport, as applicable.

Can I buy or sell products with delta-8-THC or delta-10-THC in Connecticut today?
No. High-THC hemp products, and any products that contain synthetic cannabinoids, are considered cannabis and may only be sold by licensed cannabis establishments.

After our conversion to Hybrid Retailer, are Dispensary Technicians required to complete Medical Marijuana transactions?
No. Transactions may be completed by any licensed adult-use cannabis employee at the hybrid retailer.

Can I get a license if I have been convicted of a felony?
Having a felony conviction does not preclude you from getting a license, however, if you have been convicted of specific crimes, you would be disqualified from being able to register as a backer or key employee.

Can I change backers?
No additional backers may be added to a cannabis establishment application between the time of lottery entry, or any initial application for a license, and when a final license is awarded to the cannabis establishment.
