Teacher certification requirements
Educators who want to teach in Connecticut usually graduate from one of their state’s approved programs. To get certified based on your education, you must:
- Successfully complete a state-approved planned program of general academic and professional education at a regionally accredited college or university and earn formal institutional recommendation for certification
- Pass subject-specific assessment to show you know a subject well enough to teach it, if that applies to the subject you want to teach
