Deferring your content-area assessment
Educators from other states may be eligible for a nonrenewable interim certificate and have their subject matter assessment deferred if they meet all other certification criteria.
You are eligible for an interim certificate only once, regardless of whether you work under the certificate. To maintain or advance your certification, you’ll need to pass all required tests before the interim certificate expires.
