Assessment deferrals for school administrators

Out-of-state applicants who meet all other certification criteria may be issued a Nonrenewable Interim Certificate that defers assessment testing. If you receive this certificate, you must pass the Connecticut Administrator Test before your certificate expires. Please note that you can receive this interim certificate only once, regardless of whether you work under the certificate.

Types of Nonrenewable Interim Certificates:

  • Qualified applicants who have less than 20 months of successful administrator service under a valid out-of-state certificate will receive an Initial Nonrenewable Interim Certificate.
  • Qualified applicants who 20 or more months of successful administrator service under a valid out-of-state certificate will receive a Provisional Nonrenewable Interim Certificate.
