Epidemiology and Emerging Infections Program
The mission of the Epidemiology and Emerging Infections Program (EEIP) is to prevent illness, disability, and death in Connecticut residents caused by infectious diseases. We do this by conducting surveillance for reportable infectious diseases, investigating outbreaks, evaluating and promoting prevention, and putting control measures in place. Staff work in partnership with many medical and public health professionals and their affiliates, state and federal officials, other state agencies, and infectious disease experts.
