Project 0025-0150 Webpage

Welcome to the webpage for Computerized Traffic Signal System (CTSS) Replacement on Route 10 in Cheshire.

A virtual public informational meeting for the project will be held on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to provide the community with an opportunity to learn about the proposed project and allow an open discussion of any views and comments concerning the proposed improvements. A Q&A session will immediately follow the presentation.

The purpose of the project is to replace the outdated traffic signals along Route 10, connecting them with fiber optic and wireless communication back to CTDOT headquarters, which will also enable advanced technology to monitor traffic and reduce travel times.

Right-of-way impacts are expected to be minimal around existing signal equipment and sidewalks at most project intersections.

Construction is expected to begin summer 2026, depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. The estimated cost is $18.35 million, with 80% federal funds and 20% state funds.

The project description can be viewed here.
