To improve the protection of Connecticut’s residents and functioning of our state’s criminal justice system, the Division of Criminal Justice supports a number of special programs and services in various areas, including targeted specialized units, reports on the use of force, investigations into racial profiling in traffic stops and much more. Specialized Units 

Specialized units focus on the investigation and prosecution of specific criminal matters.

Traffic Stop Complaints 

Motorists who feel they have been a victim of racial profiling may learn about their rights and submit complaints.

Reports on the Use of Force 

The Office of the Inspector General is charged with conducting investigations into use of force by peace offices.

Open Cold Cases and Rewards for Unsolved Crimes 

The Governor may offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the guilty person.
