The Workers' Compensation Fraud Control Unit is a specialized unit located in the Office of the Chief State's Attorney. The goals of the unit are two-fold: the investigation and prosecution of Workers' Compensation fraud cases and public awareness.

The investigation and potential arrest and prosecution of an individual or business may include a claimant receiving Workers’ Compensation benefits, healthcare providers, and businesses.  Any number of applicable offenses may be charged for fraudulent activities including fraudulent claim or receipt of benefits, insurance fraud, larceny, theft of government services, false statement and perjury.
