Designated Responsible Licensed Person (DRLP)

The Designated Responsible Licensed Person (DRLP) must hold an active Connecticut license, whether resident or non-resident. While the lines of authority between the business entity and the DRLP need not match exactly, the license types must correspond*.
There are no restrictions on the number of DRLPs that can be included on a license.
DRLP required: Yes
*The individual serving as the DRLP for the agency must hold at least a standard lines license if the agency holds such a license. A standard lines license includes one or more of the following lines of authority: Property & Casualty, Life, Accident & Health or Sickness, or Personal Lines.
Specifically, an individual cannot hold a Producer license with only Credit, Travel, and/or Crop lines of authority if the agency holds a Producer license with Property & Casualty, Life, Accident & Health or Sickness, or Personal Lines of authority.
