You can modify the list order by checking out (locking) the list and scrolling down to the "Filtering" section. You will see a drop-down with the following options:

• Alpha
• Sort Order
• Date Created

By default, the ordering is set to Sort Order, hence the "all over the place" comment. Change it to Alpha for the results to display alphabetically.

Save your change and publish the list to see the list results change. Do this to the other lists if you want the same results.

Option 1: If a dynamic list item has no sub-lists, it will use the other items at it's own level to populate the left nav.
List items that contain sub-lists will use show those sub-lists in the left nav.

• Create sub-lists under your parent list to display different categories of forms or content
• Result: Left Nav will display the Sub-Lists

Option 2: CI can change the left-nav configuration to only show the item or it's sub-items.

A Dynamic List is a listing of content pages, hyperlinks, and/or document files that have been tagged to a particular list in order to appear on that list. The list displays the title and description of a tagged item, but can display more, depending upon what is specific to the type of item chosen (For example: press releases, tasks, document files, external links, etc.).

These lists are generally created to:

• Display a listing of items that could also require a date filter, such as press releases.
  
• Display a listing of items that are specific to an audience or topic not already identified on the website.
  
• Display an aggregated listing of items that are located in various areas or pages of the website.
• Display a listing of items that are not already displayed on the website.

The benefit of creating a Dynamic list is to auto-generate a list of items on a single page without having to manually create it yourself and maintain it.

Here are two examples for using a Dynamic List:

1. Sally is head of a division that serves a specific visitor, say families with children. On their website are various pages, document files, and external links from other departments that are very relevant to her visitors, but they are located in other areas on the website her visitors would not think to browse. Sally could easily just create a page that lists out all these items, but that would require manual maintenance and upkeep from her. Instead, she creates a dynamic list and tags all those relevant pages, document files, and external links to it to automatically generate this page and list them all.
   
   
2. John has a large list of pdf forms that he updates periodically for multiple departments. He has created a page that displays them all, and organized them alphabetically. Sally from another division wants to link to this page, but doesn't want to have her visitors sift through hundreds of forms to find the ones relevant to them. So she creates a dynamic list and tags all the relevant document files to it to automatically generate her dynamic list and display it in her section of the website her visitors frequent often.
