Middle School Subjects Cross-Endorsements


Middle School Subjects: English, History/Social Studies, Mathematics

The following endorsements apply to middle school educators:

The requirements outlined on this page are general guidelines. Approval and/or acceptance of specific course work will be determined once an application, fee, and official transcripts have been submitted for review.

English, Middle School 4-8 (#215)

Effective July 1, 2024, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in middle school English by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional course work in the content area is no longer required. 

Assessment Requirement:

History/Social Studies, Middle School, 4-8 (#226)

Effective July 1, 2024, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in history/social studies middle school by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional course work in the content area is no longer required.

Assessment Requirement:

Mathematics, Middle School, 4-8 (#229)

Effective July 1, 2024, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in middle school math by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional course work in the content area is no longer required.
