Adding secondary subject cross-endorsements to a Connecticut teaching certificate


The following endorsements apply to secondary subjects:

 

 

English, 4-12 (#015):

Effective July 1, 2024, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in English, grades 4-12 by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional coursework in the content area is no longer required.

Assessment Requirement:

 

History and Social Studies, 4-12 (#026)

Effective July 1, 2023, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in history and social studies, grades 4-12 by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional coursework in the content area is no longer required.

Assessment Requirement:

 

Mathematics, 4-12 (#029)

Effective July 1, 2018, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in math by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional course work in the content area is no longer required.

Business, 4-12 (#010)

Effective July 1, 2024, educators who hold a valid initial, provisional, or professional educator certificate with a teaching endorsement may be eligible for an additional endorsement in business, grades 4-12 by obtaining a passing score on the appropriate Praxis II test. Additional coursework in the content area is no longer required.
