Registered nurses (RN), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN), and Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) can renew their license online. Most licenses expire in the first birth month after they’re issued, and are renewed annually after that.
Get a renewal notice.
- You can expect a renewal notification sent to your email 60 days before your license expires. Renewal notices should include information on how to renew your license.
- The expiration date should also be listed on your license.
- If you don’t renew, you’ll receive a final notice 30 days after expiration.
Renew online.
- All nursing licenses can be renewed online through eLicense.
- You’ll need your eLicense User ID, access to your email, and a credit or debit card for the renewal fee. Some roles also require continuing education.
