Boston Road at Route 66 in Middletown Reopened to Traffic
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work for the reconstruction of Route 66 (Washington Street) between Bernie O’Rourke Drive and Plaza Drive in Middletown is nearing completion.  All roads have reopened while traffic signal and some landscaping work remains.  The project is expected to be substantially completed by the end of November 2010 with only minor work expected in the spring of 2011.
DOT Project No. 82-287 was awarded to Simscroft-Echo Farms, Inc. of Simsbury, CT on May 26, 2009 at a cost of $4,005,989.  The entire project consists of the widening of Route 66 and the realignment of Boston Road.  Turn lanes for Old Mill Road and Boston Road are being added as well as upgrades to drainage, traffic signals, sewer and water systems.
