Route 7, Wilton
 Nighttime Lane Closure Scheduled
Week of March 5, 2007

Wilton, Connecticut Connecticut Department of Transportation officials have announced that there will be a nighttime lane closure on Route 7 between School Road and Pompewaug Road, on or about Thursday, March 8, from 9:30pm to 6:00am, weather permitting.  There will be alternating one-way traffic through the work zone and Wilton police will be on site for traffic control during this time.  The closure is necessary to set up barrier and install pavement markings to realign the travel lanes on the bridge over the Norwalk River and may take up to two nights to complete.

Other project work scheduled for the next few weeks includes clearing, grubbing and drainage installations north of School Road and in the Cannondale area and as the weather warms, utilities will continue to relocate their facilities throughout the project limits.

The work is part of the overall project to widen Route 7 in Wilton that will accommodate two travel lanes, both northbound and southbound, for a length of approximately three miles from Wolfpit Road to Olmstead Hill Road. The project is scheduled for completion in April 2010.

Please use caution when traveling through the construction work zone to ensure the safety of motorists and construction personnel.
