NEWINGTON, Conn.- State Transportation Commissioner Ralph J. Carpenter announced today that a Bridge Maintenance project will be performed on I-84 (east and west) between Exits 47 & 49 (Aetna Viaduct Area), in Hartford. This project is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, July 23, 2007 and continue through Thursday, July 26, 2007.                                              

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday – Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
