What is OSTA?

The Office of the State Traffic Administration (OSTA) sets standard rules of the road, also known as regulations, to make sure Connecticut roads are safe and in good condition for the traveling public. Staff work closely with the Local Traffic Authorities (LTA) in each town regarding the posting of signs, markings, and traffic signals on State highways and local roads.

OSTA operates under the authority of Section 14-298 of the Connecticut General Statutes and its Governing Regulations.
